Exploding box card.

Another quickie post, this time showing the exploding box card I made using The Most Wonderful Time of The Year Digi kit by Sarah Hurley at Jessica Sprague.

I can safely say it took me hours to do with all the fussy cutting but it really was worth it when my niece opened it.

I really hope you like this one as much as my niece did.

Thanks for popping by, C xx

One stamp set...

Hello, it's been a while since I Blogged. My laptop died with all my digi stuff on it, and I am starting out fresh again, it's going to take a while lol.Time to catch up!

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and are looking forward to a fantastic New Year. We have a very busy and exciting few days ahead and I can't wait! Anyway back to Blogging lol.

I tend to buy a few different stamp sets at Christmas and make lots of different cards, however this year I fell in love with a stamp set from Stampin Up.  It is really versatile and can be used for Halloween, Christmas, New Home and many more options. So here are a few of the Christmas cards I made using them.

He's making a list...

And checking it twice, oh I love this time of year!! Though I received a letter from Santa informing me I am on the "Naughty List" but that hasn't dampened my spirits, cause I was expecting to be on that list ;-)

I thought I would share a card I made for my niece's Christmas.  I used quite a few different stamp sets, and they all worked together beautifully. I stamped the postcard using a stamp from Christmas Mail set and the wee postmark is from that too, I then masked off the address side and stamped Santa on, he is a Stampin Up stamp and is really pretty.  I used "Santa's Coming" from the Smiling's my Favourite set instead of putting on an address.

It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year!!

How exciting, 2 weeks today is Christmas Eve!! I love this time of year, always have, and always wondered if it is something to do with my name lol.

Yesterday I decided to finally make my Christmas cards that I have to post, and I used The Most Wonderful Time Digi Kit from Sarah Hurley.  As most of you know my style is mainly clean and simple, and I decided to stick with this for my Christmas cards. I adore the tree digi that I used on the front of this card and felt it really should be the focus of the card.  I printed it and the backing papers onto glossy photo paper and had to put the flash off when I took a picture, as it was just reflecting the flash too much!  I popped on some silver mirri card just to add something extra.

Ingredients
Glossy photo paper
silver mirri card

I hope everyone is getting into the festive spirit and is having The Most Wonderful Time

It's all about the background.

This month over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog the theme is "Create Your Own Background". That is always daunting to me, as I tend to over think things, this time I drew out a sketch of my card and went from there with the ideas I had.

I got a piece of white card and masked the bottom half of with a post it note so I could stamp the wallpaper. I used the stripe stamps from the Doodle Doll Halloween Edition Witch stamps set. I stamped the fireplace from the Fireside Kisses stamp set onto a separate piece of card, and cut it out, I used Distress Inks to colour the bricks, and Flexmarkers for the top and bottom. I cut out the central part of the fireplace and added some black paper behind it and made a fire to make it look cosy and wintery. I used a die to make the stockings in felt and popped them on.  The mistletoe is also from the Fireplace Kisses set and I popped some tiny pearls on to be the berries. The girl and the sentiment come from the Be Amazing Doodle Doll stamp set, I just love these as they are so versatile and fun. I thought I should make her a wee bit more festive and popped some snowflakes and holly onto her, they come from the Christmas Tags Holly Jolly Stamps. To add some extra sparkle, I put some red gems on as the holly berries. I coloured her dress with FlexMarkers and her hair and holly with Promarkers. I used lots of foam squares to give the card lots of dimension, will need to pop some other pictures on.

Ingredients
Felt
Flexmarkers,Promarkers
Distress Ink, Memento Ink, Archival Ink.

Sorry to mention the "C" word.

I would like to apologise for mentioning the "C" word in August, but I really fancied a play with these stamps after I bought them yesterday on a wee jaunt to the craft shop. They have a fantastic sale on with a lot of their wooden stamps and Christmas goodies with 50% off, I may have got a few things and enabled a fellow crafter to buy some of her favourite Penny Black stamps by sending piccies to her via FB...but in my defence they were half price ;)

I used a Papermania 6x6" Background stamp(hubby kindly donated an A4 sheet of perspex for me to use as an acrylic block as my largest one is 5x7" eek) and stamped onto plain white card, I then distressed with Vintage Photo DI. I stamped out the new Christmas Tree stamp I got and fussy cut it, jeez my fingers were sore after that, I had scalpel cramps lol.  I used 1mm foam pads to give the card some dimension. I wanted to keep the card fairly simple, so added a ticket sentiment, some ribbon and some card candi.

Ingredients
Papermania Background & Tree stamps
Tim Holtz Ticket Die
Memento and Distress Ink Pads
Card Candi
Ribbon and card from stash

I have also ordered loads of gorgeous new Christmas stamps from Stampin Up and will share cards with you once they arrive and I get creative. If you would like an Autumn/Christmas catty, please let me know and I shall post one out to you.

Christmas with the Christies.

I can't believe Christmas is behind us and we are racing towards a whole new year full of exciting things.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, we had a very relaxed and peaceful one, just how we like it.

And as is tradition we made our cards to each other. I am ashamed to say hubby is a much better crafter than I am *hangs head*.

I used a Karber Digi for hubbys card and opted for Rudolph, as he supports Aberdeen FC and the fans are known as "Rudolphs". Probably because it is soooo cold up there, and you end up with a red nose lololol.  I coloured him(Rudolph not hubby) with Flexmarkers and Promarkers, and used Fluffy Stuff on his hat. I then popped him onto some delicious papers from the Santa's Workshop Christmas Kit from Sarah Hurley. I just love this kit and will be using it throughout the year as it is so versatile, and has more than just Christmas papers in it.  I embellished it with tiny snowflakes in white pearlescent card, popped some wee gems on them and added the word "husband" which I die cut from the Vintage Market die from Tim Holtz, I also distressed this using Black Soot DI.

Here is hubbys card to me, I love it. I will let you be the judge of which one is best ;-)

I may start encouraging him to make more cards.

6 weeks today is...

Christmas day...eeeekkkk!!! And I am trying to be organised for my first proper year of making my own cards. So yesterday I had a play with some of my dies, embossing folders and some Sarah Hurley papers.  I opted for a really clean and simple look with white and turquoise.  I printed out a couple of different papers from the Tinseltown collection, and cut out some baubles using a Memory Box die.  I love these dies, they are really easy to use and the results are great every time. I embossed a sheet of white pearlised paper with a Sizzix folder to make the background look like snowfall, and layered it onto a sheet of "Snowfall" paper from Tinseltown. Hope you like the end result, it is completely different from my usual style of card.

Ingredients
Papers and sentiment - Tinseltown by Sarah Hurley Digi Kit
Dies - Xcut and Memory Box
Sizzix Embossing Folder
Pearlised paper from stash.

Hope this inspires you to try something different with your Christmas cards.

Naughty or Nice??

Now for me that is a toughie to answer!! Now that the Sarah Hurley Lookbook is launched I can blog some of the cards I have made for it using the Santa's Workshop Christmas Kit. I had great fun making cards with this kit. There are fabulous papers, sentiments, embellishements and digi stamps.

I have layered up some of the papers and digi stamps(there are even pre-coloured one, so ideal for quick cards) and added some sparklies on the snowflakes :D

Hope you are enjoying the Christmas cards, and they inspire you to make some.
