New week, new challenge.

And this week it is with the fabulous girls over at Stitchy Bear Stamps, and this is my first DT card for them and I was really nervous as the girls on the team are super talented.  The theme this time is Use A Digi, with the winner getting a $20 voucher for the store if they use a Stitchy Bear Image, or $3 if they don't.

I was lucky enough to get the gorgeous "I'm Too Old For You" .

I coloured her using Promarkers, Flexmarkers and decided to pop some gemstones on the skulls eyes to make it a bit more girly.

I made the sentiment using stamps from Everyday Sayings Stamps from Sarah Hurley, they were just perfect for this card.

Let's look Through The Craft Room Door...

And this week I am delighted to be the Guest Designer over at Through The Craft Room Door, and the theme this week as always, is "Anything Goes" and the prize is from Oozak.

I thought I would make a card for any occasion and used the gorgeous hand drawn Roses Digi Stamps from  Sarah Hurley, I coloured it using Promarkers and Flexmarkers and fussy cut it out. I made the background paper using a stamp from Stampin Up and distressed the edges with some pink ink. I added a sentiment from Stampin Up and some ribbon and pearls. The rose is on 1mm foam to give the card some dimension.

Monday 8 July 2013

The sun has got his hat on.

And he's coming out to play! It is really warm and sunny here in Glasgow, and I am toiling with this heat! We have fans on in every room, and it is just too warm to do anything energetic, so today I took myself into the craftroom and made a bundle of CAS cards.

I am having trouble sleeping again, and the heat isn't helping lol. So I lie in bed thinking of different cards to make and keep a wee notebook beside the bed for my ideas. This was one that came to me at 1am last night.

I made ten in total, and made 9 of them with the sentiments from the new Sentiments Stamp Set from Sarah Hurley. I am always on the look out for a nice sentiment stamp set and this set has stamps for all occasions, ranging from "New arrival" to "Thinking of you".  I decided to use the "Thinking of you" stamp, but use lovely bright colours instead of the usual neutrals or pastels that I would use when using a sentiment like this.  As the stamp is a really generous size, I used two different colours of Memento Ink pads, to match in with the ribbon I found in my stash. I have lots of embossing folders, and really don't use them enough, so today I used my honeycomb one from Stampin Up.

Ingredients
Thinking of You stamp from Sentiments Stamp Set by Sarah Hurley
Honeycomb embossing folder from Stampin Up
Memento Ink Pads
Card Candi
Ribbon and orange pearlescent card from stash.

I hope you like my sunshiney card.

Blue for a boy.

It's Friday wooo hooo!! And today's blog post is in total contrast to yesterdays pink card as I have made a baby boy card.  One of my friends sisters had a wee baby boy the other day and I thought it would be nice to send my friend an "Auntie" card. I can blog it now as I know it has safely arrived.

I used my favourite  Elephant Tinchie Stamp from Sarah Hurley and stamped him onto some blue gingham paper from the Oz Digi Kit, and cut him out. I cut some layers using nestie dies and embossed one of them with a dotty folder from Stampin Up. I used digi papers from Sassy Designs as the background layer and di cut two lots of letters using my trusty Tim Holtz Market Place Die to create a shadow effect.

Pink Sparkles.

Hello, it's time for a new challenge over at Sarah Hurley Challenges and the theme this month is "Pink Sparkles".

I decided to make a card that could be used for a new baby or just for someone who likes pink, sparkles, elephants and stars.  I used the Elephant Tinchie and distressed it with Memento ink, them popped her onto a sparkly star die cut.  I made the awesome chevrons using Borders, Banners and Corners stamp set, I used a pink Memento ink pad, then used the second generation ink to create the shadow chevron, it is the first time I have done this and I love it.  The pink stamped corners from the set too, they are so versatile.  The sentiment comes from the Wish Upon A Star stamp set.  I distressed around the card too, you can never have too much pink ;-)

Ingredients
Memento Ink pads
Sizzix and Memory Box Dies
Pink glitter card from stash.

I am delighted with this card, as it is my first real "inky" creation. I hope you join us this time.

In the summertime.

I can't believe it is the 1st of July, though you wouldn't know it from the weather here in Glasgow.

It's time for a new challenge over at Digi Sketch Challenges, and the theme is "In the Summertime", with the lucky winner receiving 7 digis of their choice from the fabulous Bugaboo Digi Stamps. There is a great sketch to follow this week too.

I used Summertime Peekers, Flower Pot and coloured her using Promarkers and Flexmarkers, the limited edition summer set from last year worked perfectly with the digi papers I opted to use.  I used my trusty sentiment stamp and punch from Stampin' Up to complete the card.
