Gold ahhh, always believe in your soul!

Can you guess what the theme is over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog? It is "All That Glitters is Gold", as if we need an excuse to look out our glitter and sparklies :D

I decided to go for a clean and simple card, with LOTS of gold glitter. I used the jar stamp from the Odds & Ends Stamp Set, it is so versatile, and I love how you can colour it, fill it with stickles, die cuts and I could go on and on. I stamped out 4 jars onto some white card, and cut one out and popped it on top of the middle one to give the card some dimension.  I decided to use gold Stickles to fill the jar, if I had used loose my cat would have looked like the Cat of a Different Colour ;)

To make the sentiment I used the "Fan'Tashe'Tic" stamp from the March "A Few of My Favourite Things" Kit. I used some gold ink for the Tashe, and black ink for the sentiment to make it a wee bit different.

I added some more gold by using mirri card for my layers.

Ingredients
Jar Stamp - Odds & Ends Stamp Set
Gold Stickles
Gold Brilliance Ink

I hope you can join us over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog with your gold creation.

Cute as a bug.

Hello, today we have a new challenge over at Digi Sketch Challenges and the theme is "Cute".  We have a sketch for you to play along with too, but you don't need to use it if you don't want to.  We are sponsored by Cedar Chest Designs, who have gorgeous digital images and the prize is a $10 voucher for their online store.

I chose to use "Love Bug", and at only $1 it is a complete bargain!! I coloured it up using my trusty Promarkers, and decided to make the heart on his back a wee bit different so used Black Diamond Stickles. I used polka dot papers from the "Back to School" digi kit by Sarah Hurley as the background, and layered it up with the Ladybug Freebie from Shery K Designs. I used a sentiment from a stamp set, that I thought was perfect.

Ingredients
Ladybug Paper Kit  from Shery K Designs
Promarkers
Black Diamond Stickles
Spellbinders dies
Red Grosgrain ribbon, green card from stash.

I hope you join us this time at Digi Sketch Challenges.

Biker Chick.

Hello again, lots of blog posts this week, and this time it's to tell everyone about a new challenge over at the Digi Galore Challenge Blog. And this time Louise has drew up a funky wee sketch for us to play with.  We are sponsored by the fabulous The Paper Shelter with a $20 voucher for their online store as the prize.

I chose to use "Undetected" On The Routes, and coloured her with my favourite MOTO GP riders colours of blue and yellow. For those of you unfamiliar with MOTO GP, the rider is Valentino Rossi and he is an amazing rider! Colouring her was rather tricky as the digi is very detailed, but thanks to fine tips for Promarkers and LOTS of patience I finished her and I love her.

Ingredients
Spotty Stripey Paper from Secret Rose Garden
Coloured with Flexmarkers and Promarkers
Memento ink
Sentiment and dies from Clearly Besotted Stamps
Spellbinders die, XCut corner punch
Ribbon and blue papers from stash.

CD Case with a difference.

Hi, I thought I would share another project I made for the Sarah Hurley Lookbook 3.  This time I came out of my comfort zone and chose to alter something, and used a background from  Journaled 365, Journal Basics and a stamp from the fabulous Odds and End stamp set.

There are a few pictures, and I will explain as I go.

I took a blank CD and CD case, and made them "retro" using the Cassette stamp from the Odds and Ends set.  I used lots of different colours of Memento ink pads to make it really bright and funky.

I stamped the CD too, to make it match the CD case.

I printed out a paper from the Journaled 365 digi kit, and to make it even more vivid I printed it onto photo paper and it looks amazing.
It is truly inky fun, without all the mess which suits me fine *happy face*

Ingredients
Journaled 365 - Journaled Basics by Sarah Hurley
Odds & Ends Stamp Set by Sarah Hurley
Memento Ink Pads
Photo paper, CD Case and CD from stash.

It is a great way to personalise gifts, or update the old "Mix Tape" and bring it right up to date.

I hope this inspires you to try something different in your craft room.

Lots of firsts in the craftroom for me.

And this time it is a scrapbook page!!! Pick yourself back up, I know it's a shock, but I HAD to when I started receiving the A Few of My Favourite Things Kits from Sarah Hurley. They are packed full of strokeable papers, embellishments, journalling cards and stamps. They really make you want to scrapbook and that is something I NEVER thought I would say!!!

I used the first kit;

And made this layout;

It was great to look through our old pictures and give them a new lease of life instead of them being on a laptop or in a drawer unloved.

I can safely say I am a convert to scrapbooking, and have made a digi page which I will share soon.

Why not pop over to Sarah's website and have a look through her fabulous range of goodies with something for everyone, whether you are a scrapbooker, a stamper or a journal lover.

It's all about the boys.

This time over at Digi Sketch Challenge, it was my turn to host the challenge which was nerve wracking for me *eek*.  I chose the theme of "For the Boys" and designed a fairly clean and simple sketch to go with the theme.  The prize this time is $10 from Di's Digi Designs, so a great way to boost your stash!

I opted to use Frankenstein from Mayzyart, and added matching digi papers and a sentiment from a stamp set. I coloured him with pro and flexmarkers and I am delighted with the result.

Ingredients
Frankenstein Digi from Mayzyart
Promarkers and Flexmarkers

Shades of blue.

Is the theme over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog this month, and I am always amazed at how many different creations we come up with for a theme, but especially when it is a monochrome one.

I chose to make a card using different blue papers, and made my theme the sky.  I took the gingham paper from Oz, and made it my base layer. Used some gorgeous polka dot papers from Secret Rose Garden and die cut them to be wee hot air balloons, this is one of my favourite dies as it makes me think of floating away to Oz. My sentiment "Enjoy the Journey" comes from the Expedition kit.  I also managed to play with this months A Few of My Favourite Things Kit, which is full of gorgeous cloudy papers, bright coloured papers, journalling cards and stamps. I used one of the stamps on my cloud die cut, and I love the result.
