It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year!!

How exciting, 2 weeks today is Christmas Eve!! I love this time of year, always have, and always wondered if it is something to do with my name lol.

Yesterday I decided to finally make my Christmas cards that I have to post, and I used The Most Wonderful Time Digi Kit from Sarah Hurley.  As most of you know my style is mainly clean and simple, and I decided to stick with this for my Christmas cards. I adore the tree digi that I used on the front of this card and felt it really should be the focus of the card.  I printed it and the backing papers onto glossy photo paper and had to put the flash off when I took a picture, as it was just reflecting the flash too much!  I popped on some silver mirri card just to add something extra.

Ingredients
Glossy photo paper
silver mirri card

I hope everyone is getting into the festive spirit and is having The Most Wonderful Time

It's all about the background.

This month over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog the theme is "Create Your Own Background". That is always daunting to me, as I tend to over think things, this time I drew out a sketch of my card and went from there with the ideas I had.

I got a piece of white card and masked the bottom half of with a post it note so I could stamp the wallpaper. I used the stripe stamps from the Doodle Doll Halloween Edition Witch stamps set. I stamped the fireplace from the Fireside Kisses stamp set onto a separate piece of card, and cut it out, I used Distress Inks to colour the bricks, and Flexmarkers for the top and bottom. I cut out the central part of the fireplace and added some black paper behind it and made a fire to make it look cosy and wintery. I used a die to make the stockings in felt and popped them on.  The mistletoe is also from the Fireplace Kisses set and I popped some tiny pearls on to be the berries. The girl and the sentiment come from the Be Amazing Doodle Doll stamp set, I just love these as they are so versatile and fun. I thought I should make her a wee bit more festive and popped some snowflakes and holly onto her, they come from the Christmas Tags Holly Jolly Stamps. To add some extra sparkle, I put some red gems on as the holly berries. I coloured her dress with FlexMarkers and her hair and holly with Promarkers. I used lots of foam squares to give the card lots of dimension, will need to pop some other pictures on.

Felt
Flexmarkers,Promarkers

It's time to be Thankful.

The theme over at Kitty Bee Designs this time is Thankful/Thank You. I am a couple of days late with my blog post, I've been a bit under the weather and really weary, so trying to catch up with things when I have some evergy. Enough about me, let me show you the lovely card I made. I used the adorable Panda digi on my card, and kept it nice and simple and monochrome. I popped some butterflies on it, everyone loves a butterfly.

The panda digi is ideal for super quick, super cute cards as you can just print him out and you are ready to go!

I really hope you can pop over and join us this time.

Where does time go?

That is a question I am constantly asking myself, especially when it comes to birthdays. My youngest niece was 21 yesterday(10th) and I wanted to make her a card that reflected her musical talents.

I decided to use a Kenny K digi as they are perfect for people who are into their music, I printed it onto Diamond White paper and coloured it in using Flexmarkers and Promarkers. I made the digi a bit bigger than I normally would and ended up making an 8x8 card, which is very very unusual for me!!

I knew I had these digi papers and thought they were perfect with the image, I added a 21 cut from a Tim Holtz die, and popped on a wee metal guitar.

Ingredients
Kenny K Metal Babe Digi Stamp
Promarkers and Flexmarkers
digi papers
Bakers Twine
metal guitar charm
Tim Holtz Market Place Die
Layering card & paper from stash

I hope you like the card.

Live your dream.

What a dreadful day it is here today, heavy rain, freezing cold, damp and dark.  So I thought I would share a nice bright and cheery card with you all.

I made this for the Lookbook from Sarah Hurley using the Doodle Doll Princess Stamp Set. I got a piece of white card and used the star border from the set to make the corners. I used lots of bright colours of ink to make it really pop.  Once I had completed that I stamped the princess onto it and coloured her hair, eyes and face with Promarkers. I just love the sentiments that are part of this set and this one was perfect for the card.

Ingredients
Promarkers
Memento Inks
Card from stash.

I hope you can pop over and have a look at the Lookbook and get lots of inspiration from all the fabulous creations in it.

It's Lookbook time.

I can't believe it is November already, where has this year gone? And even more surprised that the fourth edition of the fabulous Lookbook from Sarah Hurley and I thought I would show you some of my creations. I ventured out of my comfort zone of cards quite a few times in this issue and you will see that from this post.

I decided to look out all the lovely Martha Stewart paints that have been hiding in my craft room and make something completely different.  I bought door hanger blanks ages ago and they have been lying unloved, time to change that.  As the Lookbook is an Autumnal themed one, I thought I would make it slightly Halloweeny, though this can be used at all times, if you are anything at all like me ;)

I painted it with Arrowhead, then Silver.  I stamped the "Keep Out" and "Casting Spells" using Block Alpha Stamps, the "Beware" and the skull came from Angelica Strange Stamps and Malcolm Strange Stamps. To add some texture, I masked off the words using a post it note and  used Sarah's Crackle Background Stamp. I added a skull and crossbones die cut, which I cut from Black Magic Co'redinations and scrunched it up, then sanded it to reveal a wee glimpse of orange.

Ingredients
Martha Stewart Paints
Door hanger blank
Archival Ink
Skull die
Co'redinations Black Magic

I am sure you will agree this is different for me, and hubby has claimed it already for his tool cupboard!!

I hope you love the new Lookbook as much as I do, and enjoy having a look through it.

I would like to enter it into the following challenges;

Midway at Kitty Bee Designs.

It's midway through our "Black, white and one other colour" challenge at Kitty Bee Designs and I made a tag this time using the super cute Zebra digi stamp.

I opted for teal as my other colour, and used a Promarker and some Memento ink to add the colour. I created the background using a Confetti stamp from Stampin Up and coloured round the edge with the Promarker. I added some sparkly gems onto the Zebra and the starbursts, then stamped a sentiment onto a punched shape. The "awesomsauce" sentiment comes from Everyday Sayings Stamps from Sarah Hurley.

I hope you can pop over and join us this time.
