Somewhere over the rainbow.

It's been a couple of weeks since I blogged, not been feeling great and haven't been crafting, a sure sign I'm poorly lol. Today I went into the craft room and decided to have a play with some new stash that arrived a couple of weeks ago, that has been lying unloved.

I decided to try something a bit different for me, and used the Borders, Corners and Banner Stamps from Sarah Hurley, and lots of different colours of ink.

I cut a piece of white card and stamped with the thin chevrons, I only inked each colour once, the paler colour is the second generation ink so it fades perfectly. I popped some small diamontes onto it, and contrasted it with navy thick chevrons at the bottom. The sentiment is one of my favourites from Stampin Up.

Ingredients
Memento Ink Pads
Sentiment and matching punch from Stampin' Up
White card and diamontes from stash.

Here's hoping the rainbow is a sign of improvement for me, I also discovered today I had won the Masculine Challenge over at Jellypark Challenges and have been invited to be on the DT for One Stitch At A Time, so it's been an exciting day for me :)

Hope you like the card, have a good weekend. Carol xx

It's wedding season.

And I decided to make one of my favourite cards in a different colour scheme. I have previously made this card in gold tones, and this time I made it in silver tones.

I love making cards that involve digi stamps and colouring, but sometimes it is good to just stamp and get a wee bit inky...I even used embossing powders on the lovely butterflies on the card.

I popped the butterflies, birdcage and sentiment onto 1mm foam to give the card some dimension.

There are some teeny tiny 1mm pearls on the die cut flourish in the corner, and I feel they add something to the card.

Ingredients
Butterfly stamps from Inkylicious
Birdcage, birds and branch from a set in my stash.
Brilliance Silver Ink
Versamark Ink and Silver Embossing Powder
Flourish die
Silver pearlised papers from The Papeterie
Pearls from stash.

I have blanked out the name and date of the recipients, though I know they won't see it anyway.

Hope you like the card, and it inspires you to look out your stamps and inks.

It's all about the dads.

This time over at the Digi Galore the theme is "Fathers Day", and our sponsors are the fabulous Kenny K with the lucky winner picking 5 of their cool digis.

I used Remote Control Digi, and coloured him using Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I then VERY CAREFULLY cut him out, my word my hand and fingers were sore after this lol. I used papers from the Britannia kit by Sarah Hurley to add lots of colour. I finished it off using my Sizzix Corner Die and a wee sentiment from Lili of The Valley.

Papers - Britannia Digi Kit by Sarah Hurley

Now for something udderly different!

Sorry for the awful puns, but this post is for a "Mooooving Home" card, and I couldn't resist.

An online crafty friend of mine has recently moved and her lovely wee girl loves everything bovine, so I decided to make a coo themed card for them.

I used some cow print digi papers, and a cute cow digi which I coloured with Promarkers. I decided to stick to black and white and added some spotty ribbon and some teeny tiny pearls, that really didn't want to go onto the card going by the amount of times I had to capture them from my crafty mat haha.

Hope you like it :D

I would like to enter the following challenges with it;

It's a special day in Hurley HQ!!

Hello, today is the lovely Sarah Hurley's birthday, and I thought it would be an awesome idea if us DT girlies did a wee blog hop to wish Sarah a happy birthday.  You should have arrived here from my fab teamie Claire's blog.

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!

I decided to make something using papers from the All Sewn Up Digi Kit, and incorporated lots of turquoise into it, as a certain someone loves the colour. Fingers crossed Royal Mail managed to deliver it in time.

I do hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Next stop on the hop, is the fantastic Clare....ooooohhhhh I'm in a Claire/Clare sandwich ;-)

Stars in our eyes.

It's time for a new challenge over at Digi Sketch Challenges, and the theme is "Stargazing" and anyone who knows me will know how much I LOVE stars, so much so I even have a tattoo of them. This time we are sponsored by LEJ Designs and the lucky winner will get 4 digis of their choice. As always there is a sketch too, and I followed it with my card.

I used the Sentiment sheet and made a starry birthday card.  For my backing paper I really was spoiled for choice, but in the end opted for a teal starry one from Scrap Basics Christmas Stars digi papers pack from Sarah Hurley, because stars are for life not just for Christmas.  To give the card some texture I used a starry embossing folder and some Tim Holtz Kraft Core paper, and die cut some stars using Sizzix Framelits. I popped the sentiment on some 1mm foam to give the card some dimension.

Ingredients
Star papers from Sarah Hurley
Star embossing folder,Tim Holtz Kraft Core paper
Sizzix Star Framelits.

I hope you can join us this time, and we look forward to seeing your creations.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges;
CAS on Sundays - Make it masculine
Brown Sugar - Masculine birhday
Creative Corner  - Boy oh boy
