Making magic.

It's time for a new challenge over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog, and the theme this month is "Something Magical". How awesome is that? There are so many whimsical themes amongst Sarahs kits that I   was truly spoiled for choice.

After many ooohhhhs and aaaaaahhhhs I opted for items from the  Fairyland kit and the Storybook Kit. I decided to make a classic magical fairytale ending of "Happily Ever After". I printed a starry background, then layered lots of trees on top of each other, cut them out then popped them onto foam pads for some dimension. I printed out a gorgeous princess castle, and Prince Charming and Cinderella :) I popped a die cut moon onto the card, and printed out a sentiment.

I hope you like this card, and it inspires you to make something magical and join us over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog

Something spooky...

Hi, feels like it's been a while since I Blogged. Most of my creations this week have been for events that are in the future so I can't show them off just yet.

Though I can show off my latest creation using the newest kit from Sarah Hurley.  It is called Witching Hour, and contains fabulous Halloween themed papers, alphabets, embellishments and digi stamps.  I had great fun playing with it and opted to make a card using one of the journalling cards in the kit as a base, with some of the gorgeous papers as infill in the journalling card.  I used a lovely paper from the Steampunk kit and die cut it with a skull and crossbones die, then embossed it to make it a bit more 3d. I cut out the jars and popped some gems onto the Witches Brew, so cool!!!

This kit really is ideal if you are having a Halloween party this year, you could make your invites, party bags, labels, posters oh the possibilities are endless.

Time for something different

I made this card last week.  I wanted to keep the card clean and simple(as is my style) and keep the focus on the stamped images. I used brown ink and gorgeous blue iced pearlised card popped onto a Kraft card blank. I also used a tiny bit of gilding flakes, which is an achievement for me as I don't do "messy" crafting lol. I also used Glossy Accents and Crackled Accents on some of the watch faces.

I hope you like it.

Ingredients
Memento Rich Cocoa ink
Glossy and Crackled Accents
Gilding Flakes
Pearlised paper and kraft card from stash

Tumbler buddy swap.

I used the Tumblin Buddy Digi from Simply B Stamps, and coloured her using Promarkers, Fleximarkers and Kuretake Art & Graphic. I used Glossy Accents on the ice cubes and the cute skull on the hair clip.  I used a digi paper for the background to tie into the colours.. The sentiment is from a set of Whimsy ticket stamps.

Simply Betty Tumbler Swap

I love the range of Simply Betty digis, and was delighted to stumble across the Simply Betty group on Facebook. It is a great way to see what new digis are coming and there are lots of special offers for the digis too.  Now and again there are swaps where members send pretties to each other, there is usually a theme and this time round it was "Tumblers". We made a card for our swap buddy using this digi Tumblin Buddy,  I swapped with my friend Emily, and here is the stash I received from her.

As you can see from the picture it contained all of my favourite things, buttons, socks, flowers, ribbons, stamps, choccie and lots more :D  Emily also sent this awesome card, it is so pretty and has pride of place in my craft room.

There is a blog hop to see all the fab goodies and cards, hope you enjoy it.

Jingle all the way...

What a busy day it has been for me. Had to take the car to the garage and it has been non stop since 7am, so decided to have a quick play this evening.  I fancied making a really quick Christmas card and used the Sarah Hurley Santa's Workshop Christmas Kit.  The longest part of making this card was selecting which lovely Christmassy paper to use.

I opted to use the fab green dotty paper and layered it with Jingle Bells, I popped a sentiment onto some Core'dinations and voila!

The candy cane paper the card is sitting on is also from the Santa's Workshop Kit.

Hope you like it.

Waiting for Santa.

I am really enjoying playing with the Sarah Hurely digital kits. This time I had a play with the Santa's Workshop digital scrapbooking kit.  It has lots of amazing goodies in it including backgrounds, embellishments and alphabets. So many things you will be able to create with it. Think of the cards and posters you could make for Christmas this year :D

I love the idea of having this up in a little ones bedroom.

Hope this inspires you to create or try digi crafting.

I do

Love a good wedding, and love being asked to made personalised wedding cards for clients.  It makes me feel a part of a couples special day.  Here is one I made with the theme of "bird cages". I stamped the birdcage and cut it out, mounted it onto some foam to give the card some dimension.  I did the same with the burtterflies. The colour tone asked for was gold, so I used some Brilliance ink and layered gold pearlised papers.

Ingredients;
Brilliance Ink

Pearlised paper from the Papeterie
Pearls from stash.

Embossing.

Hello, and today is a brand new month which means a brand new challenge over at The Cupboard Trilogy Challenge Blog is "embossing". I am fairly new to heat embossing and tend to forget about my collection of embossing folders, so this challenge was perfect for me using forgotten stash.

I used a car stamp which features a pocket watch, as does the sentiment and tied that it with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and some fab map paper I had in my stash. I also distressed the stamped images just to add a bit more of a vintage look. I hope you like the card, it is quite different from my usual style, though I love the result.

Ingredients
Kraft card blank
Tim Holtz Kraft Core strips, embossing folder, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress inks.
