At last, a card for a man!!

Hi, I dont know about you, but I always struggle to make cards for men.  I am always afraid of making it too girly or flouncey.  I am really enjoying creating the "Keep Calm" cards, and my latest is ideal for the man in your life, whether for a birthday or Fathers Day.

Hope you like it.

I love the simplicity of this card, though it doesn't make it any less attractive.

Hope you are having a good Monday, Carol xx

Keep calm and drink tea...

The best advice anyone could offer, especially if there is a biccie with the cuppa :D

This week over at
Glitter Geeks, the theme is "Diamond Jubilee". Here is my card for the DT.

I love the whole "keep calm" theme, and there are so many options you can have on the cards. I am having great fun playing with the theme.

Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather, and that it doesn't distract you from crafting too much ;)

Keep calm...

And make cards :)

I have found my mojo, and have made a stack of ATC's and cards today. I am delighted with the results. Here is one of the cards to show you...

I love everything about this card, and hope you like it too.

I will upload more as the week goes on :)

Two posts in one day...

I may need a lie down soon ;-)

I can blog this card now as the recipient has received it. I made it for a card swap in a FaceBook group, and my friend got it this morning.

I am really enjoying trying out different styles of cards, and am always amazed at the treasures I have in my stash :)

Hope you like the card, have a good Friday night, Carol x

Happy Friday.

It's Friday and that can only mean one thing...a new challenge over at Glitter Geeks, and this week the theme is "Polkadots". This gave me another great excuse to use one of my favourite Sugar Nellie stamps and the delicious Limited Edition Summer colours of Promarkers, as if I need an excuse to play ;)

Hope you like the card.

Ingredients;
Stamp - Sugar Nellie.
Coloured with Promarkers and Fleximarkers, glitter accents with Sakura Clear star.
Circles embossing folder.
Papers and gems from stash.

I have made a few other cards this week, so be prepared for more than one blog post ;)

Have a fab weekend,
Carol xx

The sun has got his hat on...

And it's the weekend :D

I have had quite a crafty week, dabbling with ATC's and making my DT card for Glitter Geeks, where the theme this week is "Wings n Things". It's a great challenge as you can use anything from a butterfly to an aeroplane. I opted to use a wee girl dressed up as a fairy, here is my card, hope you like it.

I stamped the image and coloured her with Promarkers(The Summer Limited Edition are fab for adding bright, deep colours) and Fleximarkers, accenting her wings, wand and shoes with Stickles. The teddy has glossy accents on his nose and the pads of his feet. I layered the image onto a Nellie Snellen die cut shape which I distressed with distress ink. I then layered the image onto paper I discovered in my stash, and added two different types of ribbons to tie in with the colours of the papers.

I would also like to enter her into the following challenges;
Fairy Tale Challenge Blog - Things with Wings.
Delightful Sketches - Distressing
Lili's Little Fairies Challenge - Favourite Tool(Mine is my Big Shot used for the die cut)
Shelly's Image Blog - Something that makes you happy (fairies and glitter)
Waste not Wednesday - Forgotten stash...ribbons in my case :)
Bearly-Mine - Fairies
LEJ Designs - Things with wings.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend, and makes lots of crafty things :)

First ever "featured" card :)

Hi, received a lovely comment on my blog yesterday from Chris at Art With No Boundaries, to tell me that the card I entered into their "Anything goes" challenge was going to be featured on their blog.  This is my first ever "featured" card, and I am over the moon. So much so that it inspired me to make some more of the mannequin cards in different colours.

Hope you like the cards as much as I enjoyed making them :) The original card is now taking pride of place in a fellow crafters sewing room :)

Life is a picnic....

Especially when the weather is as nice as it has been today.  The theme over at The Glitter Geeks this week is "Teddy Bears Picnic", and here is my card.

I used Tim Holtz distress inks to create the sky and beach/grass for the background and the new limited edition colours for my balloons. They are great colours for the spring and summer. I used a CDRom for the cute wee teddy and accented his nose and the cherry on the cupcake with Glossy Accents.

Ingredients;
4x6 blank kraft card
Teddy from Me To You Cdrom
Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Limited edition Spring colours and Broken China and Shabby Shutters.
Cupcake stamp by Smirk, coloured with watercolour pencils, cherries highlighted with Glossy Accents.
Quickcutz Balloon Die.
Craftwork Card Sentiment
Stampin' Up Linen Twine.
White ribbed paper and chequered paper from stash.

Hope you like the card, and join in with us this week :)

I would also like to enter the card into the following challenges;

Creative Belli - Animals.
Truly Scrumptious - Distressing and die cuts/punches
Wishcraft Cards - Waste Not Wednesday.
LEJ Designs  - Anything goes.
Paper Take Weekly - Anything goes.
Belle s Whistles - Spring is in the air.

Have a good Bank Holiday weekend,
Carol xx
