Card with Sarah Hurley Sentiment Stamps, Banner Cameo Files and Stix2 Stardust Glitter Card.

Hello, I am slowly getting back to crafting and blogging after my extended break.  Today I am sharing a clean and simple card using Sarah Hurleys Sentiment Stamps, Sarah's Cameo files and Stix2 Stardust Glitter card.

1  Select which colours of Stix2 Stardust Glitter Card you would like to use, I opted for a black base and contrasting bright colours.

2  Lay down your base layer, then cut 3 different sized banners from the colours and one white banner to stamp your sentiment onto.

3  Put your card together and the sentiment of your choice onto the white banner. Place 3d foam behind the banner to give the card some dimension.

Ingredients

Faith,Trust and Pixie Dust.

Hello, I am currently enduring the joys of a pinged back and blogging when I can sit up lol. So today, I thought I would share a fairy themed card using unreleased stamps from Clare Brown for Sarah Hurley, but shhhhh!!! it's our secret ;-)

I just love fairies, toadstools and anything related to them so I really HAD to have this stamp set. I'm hoping to make a toadstool themed card soon if my back behaves itself.

I wanted to make the card as pretty and feminine as possible without it being a pink-fest. I love the papers in the Be Mine Digi Kit and used glossy photo paper.  I layered it up with silver pearlised papers for a bit of extra twinkle.

I stamped her with Memento Ink and coloured her using Promarkers and Flexmarkers(colours are in the Ingredients List) she really is a joy to colour. And no fairy is complete without some Stardust Stickles on her wings, belt and shoes. I even covered the sentiment in Stickles too.

Ingredients
Woodland Fairy Stamp Set from Clare Brown for Sarah Hurley
Papers from Be Mine Digi Kit
Promarkers; Dress - Mint,Pastel, Tea Green
Wings - Tea Green

Anything Goes at Sarah Hurley 365

Hello, I'm running a day behind with my blog post, but yesterday over at the Sarah Hurley 365 Blog a new challenge was launched with the theme of "Anything Goes" This theme always excites me as there is no limit to using your imagination, and you can see that from my lovely teamies creations.

I decided to use my Cameo again and some of Sarah's Files from the Silhouette store to jazz up my boring old brown leather filofax. I used the Personal Organiser Set and the Days of the Week Tabs to make two sets of page dividers.

I used papers from  A Few of My Favourite Things kit, and cut out the organisers, then took the untabbed file and merged the Days of the Week Tabs to make daily dividers. I popped some navy card behind the cut out days, to make them pop. Make sure you keep a wee eye on Sarah's Silhouette Store as there are new files being added.

Ingredients

I am really looking forward to getting my boring old filofax looking funky with these and hopefully it will encourage me to use it more too.

We look forward to seeing your creations over at Sarah Hurley 365 this month!

It's Almost Easter.

Hi, it's Good Friday and I thought I would make something to reflect the time of year it is.

I was lucky enough to be treated to a Cameo electronic cutting machine a few months ago and I still have the new machine "fear" and realised I really had to use it rather than just download lots of Sarah's yummy files.

I thought I would make a card using one of Sarah's new designs and chose the  Easter Page Mat. When you open in onto your "Drawing Area" it opens as a 12"x12", but that is easily sized down and I will try and explain how I did that.

I wanted to use a 6"x6" card, so decided to make the cut out 5.5", to do this I selected the whole image, clicked on the Scale tool, typed in 5.5" and ticked the lock aspect option.  It resized it perfectly to leave me with this.

I was feeling confident, so decided I wanted to layer the cut out, and knew I could do it easily using the Offset tool.  I wanted it to just have a nice frame, so chose 0.1" as my Internal Offset. The result was this;

You may be wondering why I am working on the right hand side of the page...this next step will explain that. I clicked on the internal image, and dragged it over to the left of the page. That way I could do the two cuts on one pass through, and use two separate colours of card;

I sent them to the Cameo to cut, then went about picking out matching backing paper and some sparkly bits. Et voila, here is the finished card...taaa daaaah!!

Ingredients

I hope this shows that once you overcome the new machine fear, you can have lots of fun making pretty things.

Remember there is still time to enter our Challenge this month and the theme is Stitching - Real or Faux.

Have a great Bank Holiday Weekend, and a lovely Easter, Carol xx

In stitches over at Sarah Hurley

Hello, today I am sharing my creation for the new challenge over at Sarah Hurley 365 and the theme is "Stitching - Real or Faux", chosen by the lovely Ria.

I decided to make something a wee bit different from my usual cards, and opted for altering a notebook.  This months A Few Of My Favourite Thinks kit is my favourite so far, I say that every month don't I? I just love the doodles and bright colours, I used the Printable Documented 365 Kit for my doodle page and the two cards with the skull on them.  I coloured it using Promarkers and Flexmarkers, I decided to use quite dark colours as it is a Spell Book, I really didn't want it too bright.  I stamped out the brand spanking just released Voodoo Doll Stamp (HOW COOL IS THIS???) and coloured him in too.  To add in the theme of "Stitches" I drew some faux stitches around him, and around my navy backing layer.  I used the Block Alpha Stamps and Archival Ink to pop "Spells" onto the wee skull card.

I also used lots of 3d foam to give the whole page some dimension.

Ingredients

Promarkers, Flexmarkers, Stampin Up Chalk Pen, Letraset Pigment Pen
Archival and Memento Ink
Card and adhesives from stash.

We would love it if you could join us this month for some great prizes over at the new sparkly Sarah Hurley 365 site, remember we have regular Spotlight posts too for us DT Girlies to show you our lovely makes.

New challenge over at Sarah Hurley 365.

And this time the theme has been chosen by the lovely Claire N, and it is All Embellishments Just One Shape. What a great theme, I of course had to pick stars for mine.

I used some gorgeous navy blue starry paper from one of Sarah's  A Few of My Favourite Things kit as my background. I made a postcard using the Christmas Mail Stamps, I am really loving this set and use the postcard quite a lot as it is so versatile. I masked the bottom left hand side of it and stamped the gorgeous Wish Upon a Star set, and coloured her in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers to match the papers.

The sentiment comes from Star Stamps, and I heat embossed it using silver embossing powder. To add a few stars to it, I scattered some silver sequin stars on the backing paper and one on the front of Twinkles dress. I distressed the edges of the postcard using some Memento ink.

I popped some pleated ribbon on and put the postcard onto some 3mm 3D foam to give the card some dimension.

Ingredients
Promarkers and Flexmarkers
Memento, Versa Mark and Archival Ink.
Foam Pads and Collall.
Ribbon and silver sequins from stash.
