Hello again, and I am delighted to say I have had a fantastic crafty afternoon which included trying something completely out of my comfort zone - water colouring!! It was great fun and something I will definitely be doing again soon.
I decided to use some of my Distress Inks as a medium to colour, though picking which ones changed as I went as you can see from this picture! I got all my goodies out as I wanted to sit in one place and concentrate on what I was doing, though the scented candle burning in the background is optional ;-)
I bought the Bird Crazy Stamps & Dies ages ago but hadn't had the chance or mojo to play. I had no inclination to make a card from this wee play session but you will see at the end that I made a card *happy dance*. I changed my Ground Espresso ink pad for a Cracked Pistachio one.
1 Look out the goodies you will need, Stix2 Non Stick Craft Sheet, Distress Inks, Archival Ink, paintbrushes, water, baby wipes, hankies, watercolour paper.
2 Ink up your stamp with Archival Ink as it is waterproof and stamp it onto the watercolour paper.
3 Stamp your DI's onto your craft mat and use it like a palette
4 Wet your brush and pick up some of the ink and colour your birdie in. Leave it to dry for a while, or use a heat gun to dry it if you are impatient like me.
5 Cut a piece of white card down to layer on your card blank, using a distress tool rub the edge of the piece of card with one of the colours you used on the bird.
6 Pick a sentiment, I used one from a Dylusions Set, stamp onto the piece of card, and glue the bird down.
7 Place a scattering of coordinating sequins on your card to add some sparkle.
8 Apply Glossy Accents to the birds eyes.
